OSHA: Do Masks Stop the Virus Responsible for COVID-19?

#OSHA: Do #Masks Stop the Virus Responsible for #COVID-19? | #TpromoCom | Confusion abounds where it comes to cloth masks and the CDC's suggested mandates related to everyone wearing them.

By the time we get to the streets where workers and patrons are expected to wear them, something gets lost in the mandate, I mean the translation. The following snippet comes from OSHA's  FAQ webpage. There will be a link at the end for you to use to get even more information:
CDC provides information about face coverings as one type of mask among other types of masks. OSHA differentiates face coverings from the term “mask” and from respirators that meet OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard.

Cloth face coverings:

  • May be commercially produced or improvised (i.e., homemade).
  • Should be made of at least 2 layers of a tightly woven breathable fabric, such as cotton.
  • Are worn over the nose and mouth to contain the wearer's potentially infectious respiratory particles produced when they cough, sneeze, or talk and to limit the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), to others.
  • Are not considered personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Are not appropriate substitutes for PPE such as respirators (e.g., N95 respirators) or medical facemasks (e.g., surgical masks) in workplaces where respirators or facemasks are required to protect the wearer.
  • May be used by almost any worker, although those who have trouble breathing or are otherwise unable to put on or remove a mask without assistance should not wear one.
  • May be disposable or reusable after proper washing.
  • May provide some level of protection for the wearer from others' respiratory particles.

Video Surveillance at Six Flags to Reveal Instigators and Victims After Fight Night

Crowds Turn Violent At Six Flags America Over The Weekend | #TpromoCom #Violence #SixFlagsAmerica | It was a chaotic weekend at Six Flags America in Prince George's County after several fights broke out in the parking lot (baltimore.cbslocal).

"The Prince George’s County Police Department is working to identify those who were victimized by acts of vandalism that occurred this weekend at Six Flags Amusement Park. We are reviewing video and attempting to identify tag numbers and victims as well as potential suspects. Once we identify the suspects then the States Attorney’s Office can determine potential charges," says a Prince George County Police Department representative.

For more:

There are folks who do not believe that public video surveillance is a good thing for the citizens of their locale. Of course, there are those who believe it is. The situation described in this news story is definitely one that will get sorted out only by the use of on-site video surveillance. Without it, police would probably find it impossible to figure out who did what and to whom.
