A 2013 study from the Department of Homeland Security, “A Study of Active Shooter Incidents in the United States Between 2000 and 2013,” suggests that only 15% of active assailant events in schools occur outside of the school building. 

That figure, then, means that 85% of active shooter events in schools occur within the building, once the assailant has made it past external security. (read more)

AI and Alpharetta school safety connected vehicle initiative | #ESC_LLC #Schools #SchoolBus #Students #Safety | I know that Atlanta is a far piece from Ohio, but I found this article and the video it leads to very interesting because it involves the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a combination of sensors and the like to make school buses safer. Using artificial intelligence technology, Fulton County has deployed connected vehicle technology on one bus in Alpharetta to help develop notifications to motorists before they are within sight contact with a school bus. Audi has provided an SUV equipped with the connected vehicle technology as part of the safety program development.
