The New DICE Announces Expansion Into Latin America With Affordable Security and Video Monitoring Services

The New #DICE Announces Expansion Into Latin America With Affordable #Security and #Video #Monitoring Services
| #TpromoCom | The New DICE Corporation is bringing its innovative technology, leading products and unique services to Latin America.  https://bit.ly/3B6rgnk

With an evolutionary vision for alarm and video monitoring, this expansion will provide the growing global security industry with a game-changing way of doing business. Phase one will consist of introducing software as a service that enables interactive and advanced video monitoring services with video analytics that includes artificial intelligence for enterprise end users, guard companies, central stations and integrators.

While DICE Corporation has always been a global company, there is now an increased focus and resources for the region based on the company’s successes in the U.S. and Canada.

Fresh, modern, and professional, the New DICE branding embodies an organization that is reinventing itself but is still very committed to the security industry and now LATAM. The new identity builds upon the company’s 35-year history of innovation and quality, but also opens doors to the future.

This expansion brings our multi-million-dollar investment in new technologies, new products, and new services that include IoT, artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, integrated audio, and video into Latin America.

These powerful technologies will also unlock opportunities for command centers and integrators to provide a new world of automated and smart video alarm services, which means increased RMR and a reduction in operational time and resources.

"Latin America represents an important role in our global market development plans,” stated the New DICE Corporation’s co-president Avi Lupo. “DICE is changing because the world around us is changing. The New DICE is a major milestone for the company as the IoT, interactive video and remote guarding markets accelerate, opening a unique opportunity for the security industry in Latin America to step into the future.”

Going beyond basic security and automation monitoring, the New DICE has developed products for integrated business operations, resiliency, telecom, video, and mobile that offer the industry unified solutions to empower their businesses. Many of the solutions can interface with any central station software.

To promote the New DICE entering Latin America, Spanish translation is now available on the company’s website. There are also plans to hold virtual introductory events, as well as new marketing initiatives.

“We see a very promising future and are excited to be entering these new markets where we can bring our innovations to more users and partners in Latin America," Lupo added.

Security Today: Always Surrounded

Security Today: Always Surrounded
| #TpromoCom | Technology counts on AI to authenticate and identify people - by Brian Baker. An article about AI in physical security. https://bit.ly/3xJJ4CG

Not long ago, artificial intelligence was viewed as science fiction. Today, it routinely makes our lives more secure and convenient. AI surrounds us in our everyday lives. Online entertainment providers use it to suggest movies, TV shows and music we might enjoy. Retailers try to influence our current buying decisions based on previous purchases. Chatbots help us make appointments with service providers.

The security industry also deploys artificial intelligence in many ways. Facial recognition counts on AI to authenticate and identify people by the shapes of their faces and features. Robots and drones patrol perimeters looking for anomalies, leaving human officers free to handle other potential threats and events. AI-based software checks feeds from central video monitoring stations to filter out false alarms.

Always Surrounded: Will AI One Day Hold the Capacity to Destroy Mankind?

Online entertainment providers use it to suggest movies, TV shows and music we might enjoy. Retailers try to influence our current buying decisions based on previous purchases. Chatbots help us make appointments with service providers.
Technology is like everything else, it's only as good or bad as the 'person' using it. However, where I see a problem is when AI tech reaches the place where it's able to think on it's own. When we get to this place in the AI world, the decision  to use tech for good or bad is no longer in the hands of human beings. Now, it's in the hands of an 'Unknown.'

AI and Alpharetta school safety connected vehicle initiative

AI and Alpharetta school safety connected vehicle initiative | #ESC_LLC #Schools #SchoolBus #Students #Safety | I know that Atlanta is a far piece from Ohio, but I found this article and the video it leads to very interesting because it involves the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a combination of sensors and the like to make school buses safer. This may be something we'll see in our own state in the months and  years to come. --John Larkin, ESC Senior Partner https://bit.ly/3wun3Xl

Using artificial intelligence technology, Fulton County has deployed connected vehicle technology on one bus in Alpharetta to help develop notifications to motorists before they are within sight contact with a school bus. Audi has provided an SUV equipped with the connected vehicle technology as part of the safety program development.

As an Audi vehicle approaches a school zone, it will get an alert from a beacon that provides... (read more)

Monitaur Uses Industry Traction to Successfully Close $2.6 Million in Funding

Monitaur Uses Industry Traction to Successfully Close $2.6 Million in Funding
| #TpromoCom #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #Business | Growing demand for AI and ML solutions in insurance exposes market need for governance, transparency, and auditability https://bit.ly/3ff4Cir

BOSTON, May 11, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Monitaur, developer of machine learning (ML) assurance technology, is pleased to announce the company has successfully closed an oversubscribed funding round of $2.6 million that included TechStars, MTech Capital, Hub Angels, and other prominent angel investors, which will accelerate hiring for technical and market-facing teams for insurance, a first mover industry for ML assurance.

Recent research by KPMG and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) highlights accelerated investment in AI during the pandemic, but also mounting concerns about risks and a lag in the implementation of responsible AI governance programs.

Governance initiatives around artificial intelligence (AI) and ML deployments are intensifying because these solutions are increasingly making high-impact decisions about the health, finances, employment, and safety of individuals and must be assured to be fair, safe, compliant, and accountable. Recognizing the potential risks of complex decision systems, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), for example, is ramping regulatory scrutiny focused on protecting consumers from model-based racial and gender bias in underwriting, product development, and pricing.

What’s Real in Artificial Intelligence: Applications, Markets & Opportunities

What’s Real in Artificial Intelligence: Applications, Markets & Opportunities
| #TpromoCom #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #Security | Illusory marketing hyperbole no longer defines AI, machine learning, business intelligence and the like in the physical security realm. Get a brass tacks perspective where broad adoption is happing today and into the future (SecuritySales). https://bit.ly/2SwPchI

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a growing force in the physical security industry. That declarative statement may well have you grinning, wryly, especially if you’ve been exposed to the near carnival-barking level of embellishment at trade show exhibitions the past few years. But in reality, the statement could not be truer.

SSI spoke with a number of vendors that specialize in this developing technology arena to uncover the ways organizations are approaching and implementing emerging technologies in order to support security and business initiatives.
